Arriving in london

International flights are likely to land in Heathrow or Gatwick. If you travel from Europe you are likely to land in Gatwick, Luton, London City airport, or Stansted.

If you land in Heathrow, you might consider the Heathrow Express which will bring you to Paddington in 15 mins. A much cheaper and nice alternative is the Elizabeth line.  No need to waste time at the counter and buy a ticket. You can use contactless cards.  Heathrow express tickets are a bit cheaper if you buy them online, in advance.

If you land in Gatwick, there are several trains (operated by different lines) that you can take. The fastest, but most expensive option is the Gatwick express. No need to waste time at the counter and buy a ticket. You can use contactless cards.  Gatwick express tickets are a bit cheaper if you buy them online, in advance.

If you land in Stansted, the Stansted express will bring you to Liverpool Street in 45 mins. You need a ticket to board the train. No contactless payment accepted here. We recommend getting the tickets online in advance. From Stansted you can also reach London via bus. It is much cheaper. We recommend getting the ticket in advance to reserve your spot.

If you land in London City Airport, you can take the DRL to the city centre or consider a taxi/uber as the airport might be close to your hotel (if you are staying in east London).

If you land in Luton, there are several option to reach the city, via train or bus.

Venues

All venues (see map below) are either in the heart of central London (the Royal Institution), or in the center-east side of the city (Queen Mary and social dinner venue). All venues are well connected via the public transportation system. We recommend finding a hotel or an airbnb close to a District line or Hammersmith and City Line station. Queen Mary is located at walking distance from the Stepney Green station (served by both lines) and the social dinner is at walking distance from Aldgate, Aldgate East, and Tower Hill stations. The Royal Institution is in Piccadilly hence reachable from several lines.

Yellow pin: Royal Institution (venue for the 12th). The venue is located in Soho.
Light blue pin: Dickens Inn. Social dinner venue. The venue is located in Tower Bridge.
Purple pin: Mason lecture theater at Queen Mary University.  The venue is located in Mile End.
Dark red pin: Devon House, Northeastern London Campus. Venue for the Industry panel in the afternoon of the 10th.
We have highlighted some of the closest metro stations.
